Admissions

If you are considering Horbury Bridge Academy as your child’s school we would very much welcome you and your child to visit us and take the opportunity to look around our facilities and meet the staff and pupils.  Please arrange a mutually convenient visit time by calling the school directly.

At Horbury Bridge Academy, we follow the policy and guidance determined by WAKEFIELD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE SERVICE.  Links to our Admissions Policies are below.
Admissions Policy 2023/24
Admissions Policy 2024/25
The school’s admission limit for new children in every year group from Reception to Year 6 is currently 15 pupils. If more applications are received than this number, the Council Policy on admissions is then adhered to.
All new admissions requests should be made via the school admissions section at WAKEFIELD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE SERVICE through the council’s admission procedures.

Any pupil who leaves this school to go to another school must also follow the council’s procedures by informing ‘Admissions’ and completing the necessary forms.  These forms are then sent to the school to complete.  This process ensures that no child goes missing from education.
We are committed to meeting the needs of all children including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We would ask parents to discuss the identified needs with the school prior to starting so that appropriate intervention and support can be planned and implemented. Advice from the LA or other agencies may be requested to ensure that the school can meet any needs appropriately.

Please visit the WAKEFIELD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE SERVICE website for information regarding the school admission process and primary school admissions or to find instructions on appeals against an admission.
